L’eredità di Guarini. Il Barocco, l’internazionalità, l’Europa centrale

The congress, organized by Augusto Roca De Amicis, aims to discuss the role played by Guarino Guarini (1624-1683) in the spread of Baroque architecture in Europe and the ways in which his original view helped define a new understanding of architecture. In addition to being an architect, he was also a Theatine monk, philosopher, and mathematician. Guarini was the most prominent architect of his time in Northern Italy, but he was also an international designer, whose projects renewed local traditional approaches, promoting a more dynamic development of architecture. While also working in several European cities, Guarini’s most significant legacy can be recognized in the Late-baroque architecture of central Europe.
